Dr. Linda Sorensen

Linda graduated from the University of California, Davis 1992. Before emigrating to New Zealand, Linda was employed in a variety of Animal emergency and referral centres in the United States. She also achieved board certification for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners – Canine/Feline Medicine and Surgery 2001

She moved to Christchurch in 2005 and joined The Veterinary Centre in 2006. She is currently employed at the Straven Road branch of the Veterinary Centre and teaches anesthesia and surgical practical lab sessions to veterinary nursing students training at Christchurch Polytechnic and Institute of Technology (CPIT).

Linda has an "amazing partner", Bill, who she met whitewater kayaking in California, three gorgeous, if not a bit weird, cats of black and white variation. She says she spends way too much time playing flute/piccolo/violin in community music groups including the Canterbury Philharmonia, Risingholme Orchestra, and Serendipity Flutes. She also enjoys getting out in the whitewater kayak when she has the time off and energy... as well as bicycling. She says she is considered a wine snob by people who just don't get wine and enjoys travel, ideally a bit off the beaten path. Her more recent excursions have included Africa, Southeast Asia, and Switzerland, where she received flute tuition from Lady Jeanne Galway.
